Radon fan noise a hum, not a dryer

· 1 min· Gaz Radon

A radon fan is a small inline unit, usually in the basement, garage or attic. On rubber couplings, away from a bedroom wall, it is a low hum. A metal buzz is a pipe touching a joist, a mount screwed tight to the framing, or a fan near the end of its life.

Do not swap it for a bathroom fan, and do not switch it off at night to sleep. If it is off, radon comes back. Fan stopped. The system.

The 4-day test is a first reading. The 91-day test covers the three-month minimum Health Canada asks for. Both are $59 before tax. Shipping, the return and the lab are included. Tax is extra. The PDF report goes out within 2 business days after the lab receives the detector.

Above 200 Bq/m³, mitigation starts with a quote. Gaz Radon is C-NRPP certified and ships kits across Canada. See the Canada test page.
