Radon after a flood retest when the basement is lived in again

· 1 min· Gaz Radon

A basement flood can shift the sump cover, soak the gravel and sometimes crack the slab-wall joint. The radon path is no longer last winter’s path. Retest when the room is occupied and heated again, not while drying fans are running and the doors are open.

Do not restart a system if the pit is still full of water: the installer looks first. Sump. After renovations.

The 4-day test gives a first reading. The 91-day test covers the three-month minimum Health Canada asks for. Both are $59 before tax: shipping, return and the laboratory are included, taxes extra. The PDF report is sent within 2 business days after the laboratory receives the detector.

Above 200 Bq/m³, mitigation is confirmed with a quote. Gaz Radon is C-NRPP certified for measurement and mitigation.
