Radon in Québec City and Lévis the 2012 survey is the region

· 1 min· Gaz Radon

The wider Québec City region runs from the river lowlands to the first slopes of the Appalachians. Lévis, Saint-Romuald, Charny, Bernières, Charlesbourg or Beauport do not share the same subsoil. The city’s average says nothing about the slab under your living room.

Where to place the device

Many houses here have a finished basement used as a bedroom or an office. That is where the test starts. If there is no lived-in basement, aim at the floor where people sleep. Height, drafts and heating vents are described in where to place the detector.

A new house on the South Shore

A pipe left in the slab at construction prepares a future installation. It does not prove the air is under 200 Bq/m³. After you move in, measure. See new homes and radon.

The 4-day test gives a first reading. The 91-day test covers the three-month minimum Health Canada asks for. Both are $59 before tax: shipping, return and the laboratory are included, taxes extra. The PDF report is sent within 2 business days after the laboratory receives the detector.

Above 200 Bq/m³, mitigation is confirmed with a quote. Gaz Radon is C-NRPP certified for measurement and mitigation.
