Snow covering a radon exhaust a buried pipe stops working
The fan pushes gas to an outlet that has to stay in open air, normally above the roof and away from windows and fresh-air intakes. A low outlet on the side of the house ends up under snow. The pipe blocks, the manometer changes, and some of the gas can spill near a basement window.
Clearing the outlet is winter maintenance, like a dryer vent. If the U-tube is flat after a storm, a blockage is a common cause before a dead motor. Fan stopped.

The 4-day test is a first reading. The 91-day test covers the minimum of three months Health Canada asks for. Both are $59 before tax. Shipping, the prepaid return and the lab are included. Tax is extra. The PDF report goes out within 2 business days after the lab receives the detector.
Above 200 Bq/m³, mitigation starts with a quote. Gaz Radon is C-NRPP certified for testing and for installation, and ships kits across Canada.
