Split-level homes and radon test the lowest room someone uses
A split-level house has two or three staggered floors. Health Canada does not ask for a detector on every step. It asks for the occupied zone of the lowest lived-in level: a room used more than four hours a day, the one closest to the soil.
If the bedrooms are on the lower level, that is the room. If nobody stays down there and life is on the middle level, test the middle. A number taken in the entry does not describe the bedroom. Basement bedroom. Upstairs.
The 4-day test gives a first reading. The 91-day test covers the three-month minimum Health Canada asks for. Both are $59 before tax: shipping, return and the laboratory are included, taxes extra. The PDF report is sent within 2 business days after the laboratory receives the detector.
Above 200 Bq/m³, mitigation is confirmed with a quote. Gaz Radon is C-NRPP certified for measurement and mitigation.
