Home inspectors and radon a 48-hour test is a screen

· 1 min· Gaz Radon

Many pre-purchase inspections leave a device for 48 hours, sometimes less. That is a screen for an offer condition. It is not the annual average in the Health Canada guide. Windows open on visit day, a device in the mechanical room, a test that is too short: the number can be too low.

Read the duration and the room on the inspector’s report. Then do the 91-day test in the first winter you live there. Reading a report. An invalid test.

The 4-day test gives a first reading. The 91-day test covers the three-month minimum Health Canada asks for. Both are $59 before tax: shipping, return and the laboratory are included, taxes extra. The PDF report is sent within 2 business days after the laboratory receives the detector.

Above 200 Bq/m³, mitigation is confirmed with a quote. Gaz Radon is C-NRPP certified for measurement and mitigation.
