Why wait three months to start understanding radon levels in your home?
A simple, fast way to measure the radon concentration in your home, using professional ion chamber technology.
The E-PERM® is an electret ion chamber listed by C-NRPP, the Canadian National Radon Proficiency Program, as a professional measurement device. It is the technology used by C-NRPP certified professionals. Your detector is then analysed by a certified professional.

Fast screening. Professional technology.
Just 4 days to get an initial indication of radon levels in your home, with a professional device listed by C-NRPP.
Our E-PERM® detector uses electret ion chamber technology to measure the average radon concentration during the testing period.
Unlike an electronic device displaying an instantaneous reading, our detector measures cumulative radon exposure over four days. The result is then determined through specialized analysis.
- Professional device listed by C-NRPP.
- Electret ion chamber technology.
- Cumulative measurement over four days.
- Specialized analysis after testing.
- Useful initial information to help plan your next steps.
- A fast screening solution to start understanding your indoor environment.
How it works

Get your laboratory report
Your detector reaches the laboratory within approximately 48 hours after collection. Your PDF report is then available within 2 business days of laboratory receipt.
Receive it by email or download it from the Report tab in our online portal.
Your report shows the average radon concentration measured during the 4-day test, expressed in Bq/m³.
Professional radon screening. Fast, simple and hassle-free.
The 4-day test is intended for rapid screening. Health Canada recommends testing for at least 91 days to assess long-term exposure and make mitigation decisions. The 91-day test is for that measurement.
Is a 4-day radon test reliable?
Yes, for measuring the average radon concentration during the four-day testing period.
It's important to distinguish between the reliability of the measurement technology and the duration required to estimate annual exposure.
Our E-PERM® detector is listed by C-NRPP as a professional electret ion chamber. The reading is taken by a C-NRPP certified professional, with a specialized reader. The length of the test does not change the professional standing of the device.
However, because radon concentrations naturally fluctuate over time, a four-day result alone cannot establish a home's annual average radon level.
Our approach: start with a quick measurement, then complete a long-term test lasting at least 91 days to assess annual exposure in accordance with Health Canada recommendations.
Not all radon detectors work the same way
Testing duration and detection technology are two different things.
Our E-PERM® system uses an ionization chamber containing an electrically charged electret. As radon enters the chamber, radiation ionizes the air and progressively changes the electret's electrical charge.
This change is measured using a specialized reader to calculate the average radon concentration over the exposure period.
You receive a physical measurement of radon in your home, not an estimate based solely on your region or postal code.
Why choose the 4-day test?
Get an initial indication of radon in your home without waiting several months. Radon is invisible. Your first measurement shouldn't have to wait.
To assess annual exposure and decide on mitigation, a test of 91 days or more is still recommended.
Support
This is more than a detector. Questions about placement, the measurement or the report go through chat: a C-NRPP certified professional, not a bot. No extra fee.
Common questions
Why choose a 4-day test if Health Canada recommends 91 days?
The two tests serve different purposes.
A 4-day test provides rapid screening, while long-term testing offers a more representative estimate of annual radon exposure.
An elevated four-day result provides an additional reason to investigate further. However, a low result does not guarantee that radon levels will remain low throughout the year.
To determine whether radon mitigation is necessary, Health Canada recommends testing for at least 91 days.
The 4-day test gives the average concentration over those four days, with a C-NRPP listed professional device. The 91-day test is used to estimate exposure over the year.
Where should I place the detector?
In a regularly occupied room, on the lowest lived-in level, 0.8 to 2 m above the floor.
Can I place it myself?
Yes. Open the envelope and watch the short video: activation takes one simple motion.
When do the results arrive?
The 4 days are the time in the home. The detector reaches the lab within 48 hours, then the report is sent within 2 business days after that receipt.
How do I send the detector back?
The portal, two clicks for the date, then the envelope in the mailbox or on the porch. The same day; after 4 p.m., the next day.
What if the result is high?
A high four-day result is a reason to continue with a 91-day test. Health Canada sets the action level at 200 Bq/m³ for a measurement of at least 91 days. The report shows the average concentration over the 4 days. A C-NRPP certified professional can then explain the next step.
Can I order several detectors?
Yes. Each detector is analysed. You can also prepare tests for people close to you, each with a name and an address.
