Daycares and radon the nap room is the occupied zone

· 1 min· Gaz Radon

Children sleep and play for hours in the same rooms. Health Canada wants those rooms: more than four hours, the lowest occupied level, at least three months, ideally in winter. A daycare in a basement or on the ground floor is tested in the nap room and the playroom, not in the snack kitchen or the office on the second floor.

The operator controls the building and the work. A parent can ask for the report. The same 200 Bq/m³ guideline applies. Children at home. Schools.

The 4-day test gives a first reading. The 91-day test covers the three-month minimum Health Canada asks for. Both are $59 before tax: shipping, return and the laboratory are included, taxes extra. The PDF report is sent within 2 business days after the laboratory receives the detector.

Above 200 Bq/m³, mitigation is confirmed with a quote. Gaz Radon is C-NRPP certified for measurement and mitigation.
