How it works
  1. 1

    Receive and place it

Open the tube lid, take out the sheet, and remove the cap or the tab. Place the detector in a regularly used room, on the lowest lived-in level, 0.8 to 2 m above the floor. Placement video.

  2. 2

Leave it for 4 full days

4 full days in the house. No plug-in.

  3. 3

Send it back at no charge

Three steps. On the portal (also radonsgas.ca), enter the order number and the checkout email. Two clicks confirm the pickup date. Leave the prepaid envelope in the mailbox or on the porch, the same day. A confirmation after 4 p.m. is the next day. No need to drop the parcel at a drop-off point, or to book the pickup with a carrier’s customer service.

  4. 4

    Get the report

The detector reaches the laboratory within 48 hours. The PDF report then follows within 2 business days after that receipt, by email and on the portal, Report tab. The PDF is in both places. It gives the average concentration over the 4 days, in Bq/m³.

When it is useful
  • A preliminary screen, including before a purchase
  • A first quick measurement
  • Spot a high concentration
  • Decide whether to continue with a 91-day test

The 91-day test remains Health Canada’s reference for annual exposure and mitigation decisions.

Support

This is more than a detector. Questions about placement, the measurement or the reading go through chat: a C-NRPP (PNCR-C) certified professional, not a robot. No extra fee.

Frequently asked questions
Is the result reliable?

Yes for the 4-day average, if the protocol is followed. The result can look like a 91-day test, but concentrations change from one period to another.

During a real estate transaction?

The result is a preliminary indication. The 91-day test remains Health Canada’s reference for annual exposure.

Where do I place it?

In a regularly used room, on the lowest lived-in level, 0.8 to 2 m above the floor.

Can I place it myself?

Yes. The sheet and the video are enough.

When do the results arrive?

The 4 days are the time in the house. The detector reaches the laboratory within 48 hours, then the report is sent within 2 business days after that receipt. Shipping is in addition to the 4 days.

How do I send it back?

Three steps: the portal (order number and checkout email), two clicks for the date, then the envelope in the mailbox or on the porch. The same day; after 4 p.m., the next day.

What if the result is high?

Health Canada recommends corrective action above 200 Bq/m³. The official report shows where the concentration sits. A C-NRPP certified professional explains the next step, including a 91-day test.

Can I order more than one detector?

Yes. Each one is analysed.

Scientific information

The 4-day short-term test gives a first reading of the concentration in the home. In Winnipeg, short-term tests led to the same finding as the 91-day test in more than 85% of homes: above or below the Health Canada threshold.

The GAZRADON report is an official analysis report, prepared in Canada by C-NRPP certified professionals. The PDF is sent by email (subject: “Your radon analysis report is available”) and posted on the portal.

Health Canada recommends at least 91 days for the annual average and for mitigation.
