Radon in a split-level which floor is the lowest lived-in level

· 1 min· Gaz Radon

A split-level has staggered floors. Health Canada does not ask for a detector on every landing. It asks for the occupied area of the lowest lived-in level: a room used more than four hours a day, closest to the soil.

If the bedrooms are on the lower level, that is the room. If nobody stays down there and life happens on the middle level, test the middle level. A number from the entry is not the bedroom. Basement bedroom. Upper floors.

The 4-day test is a first reading. The 91-day test covers the three-month minimum Health Canada asks for. Both are $59 before tax. Shipping, the return and the lab are included. Tax is extra. The PDF report goes out within 2 business days after the lab receives the detector.

Above 200 Bq/m³, mitigation starts with a quote. Gaz Radon is C-NRPP certified and ships kits across Canada. See the Canada test page.
