Radon in a slab-on-grade house no basement, still a test

· 1 min· Gaz Radon

No basement does not take a house out of Health Canada’s guide. Radon enters through the slab poured on the ground. Test the main-floor room used more than four hours a day: a bedroom, living room or family room.

A closed crawl space under part of the house is another path. Do not put the detector in the crawl space or the garage. Crawl space. Where not to place it.

If a system is needed, it pulls from under that slab. In-floor heat changes how anyone drills: heated floors.

The 4-day test is a first reading. The 91-day test covers the three-month minimum Health Canada asks for. Both are $59 before tax. Shipping, the return and the lab are included. Tax is extra. The PDF report goes out within 2 business days after the lab receives the detector.

Above 200 Bq/m³, mitigation starts with a quote. Gaz Radon is C-NRPP certified and ships kits across Canada. See the Canada test page.
