Home insurance and radon usually not a sudden claim
Home insurance generally covers a sudden event: a break, a fire, some kinds of water damage. Radon is there continuously, from the soil. Unless a clause names it, the test and the mitigation system stay with the owner, like other upkeep you choose to do.
Ask the insurer in writing before you count on a cheque. A no does not stop the test. The test is $59 before tax. The system price depends on the house. What changes the price.

The 4-day test is a first reading. The 91-day test covers the minimum of three months Health Canada asks for. Both are $59 before tax. Shipping, the prepaid return and the lab are included. Tax is extra. The PDF report goes out within 2 business days after the lab receives the detector.
Above 200 Bq/m³, mitigation starts with a quote. Gaz Radon is C-NRPP certified for testing and for installation, and ships kits across Canada.
